Well here we are with our fourth rehearsal tonight. We returned to rehearsals on Wednesday 19th May, just 2 days after the Welsh Guidelines regarding COVID allowed us to on the 17th May and 435 days since our last rehearsal. A tremendous amount of work was put into the Risk Assessment and the Policy Protocol that we now follow. Items such as Ventilators, de-foggers, screens and all the sanitisers, soaps, face shields and signs were sourced prior to the big day and some time was taken to layout our one way system and to inform the choristers of what was expected from them.
The incredible patience of the choristers and their quick response to all the emails thrown at them, has allowed us to move on very quickly, but even so this has been 5 months in the planning. Unfortunately, the Chapel can only accommodate 24 choristers due to the distancing measures, but our track and trace system also allows us to see who has sung and when so that we can rotate the choristers within their section to keep it all nice and fair.
So far the response has been wonderful to see and we have managed to see 34 choristers at some point in the last two weeks with more to rota in. We’re glad to be able to say that “The Choir, the Passion and the Song” is back in business…
