We’ve just heard the sad news that Harry Lindley passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on Wednesday 16th June. Harry was a 1st Bass chorister in the choir for over 30 years and a lifetime member of the choir.
FMVC had just formed when Harry joined and he was one of many who made the choir what it is today. For those who remember singing with Harry you will remember him describing himself as a Yorkshire Welshman! He enjoyed many special moments with the choir singing on the QE2, at the Millenium Dome, Eisteddfod, Prague and his favourite memory a trip to Lorient and the Celtic Festival.
According to his Granddaughter Katie Ellis his favourite song/hymn was Gwahoddiad and he wanted the choir to be at his funeral but due to Covid this isn’t going to happen now.
He leaves behind his devoted wife Betty, 2 daughters, 4 grandchildren, and 4 great grandchildren. Along with memories of his time in the choir and all he achieved. Our thoughts are very much with Harry’s family at this sad time.
RIP Harry.
